Sunfold collects nothing about you. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Sunfold has no servers, so there is nowhere for your data to be sent even in principle.
If you grant location access, Sunfold reads your coordinates to work out the sunrise, sunset, golden hour and blue hour times where you actually are.
Those times are calculated on your device. The astronomy is arithmetic — it needs no network connection and nothing leaves the phone to produce it.
One thing does leave your device. To turn coordinates into a place name, and to find cities when you search for one, Sunfold uses Apple's geocoding service, part of iOS. Your coordinates, or the text you type into city search, are sent to Apple to be resolved into a name. That exchange is between you and Apple and is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy. Sunfold neither receives nor keeps a copy.
Declining location access is fine. Sunfold falls back to a default location, and you can search for any city by name.
Sunfold saves a small amount of information locally so the app remembers itself between launches:
All of it lives in Sunfold's own storage on your device. None of it is transmitted anywhere. Deleting the app deletes all of it.
Because Sunfold does not track you, it never shows the App Tracking Transparency prompt.
Sunfold is not directed at children, and collects no personal information from anyone regardless of age.
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new date at the top. Sunfold's design makes substantive change unlikely — an app with no servers has little to revise.
